Ordinary URC, universal RC (some people also call it omnipotent RC) often embedded some RC codes of common-brand household appliances. The users have to through certain set-up operation to select the wanted code of the corresponding devices before they use. It was helpful but considering the cost, the ordinary URC has a limitation for masked code capacity, (In general it can contain hundred sets of codes), which caused the limited scope of application of URC. In fact, many users found that their URC does not include relevant codes for their household appliances and becomes useless. Moreover, it must be pointed out that due to the un-upgradeable database of code, the ordinary URC is unable to identify new RC codes. In other words, if users change their electric appliances their URC may become useless.
In addition, some URCs with learning function are called learnable URC. Generally speaking, for the most low cost URC available in the market, the real learning ability is not good enough. It is mainly manifested in two aspects: one is they have limited ability to learn RC code. The other is they are not compatible to the coming new code-model. Therefore the learning function of many URC does not work well. The reasons for that are: firstly, as cost consideration, ordinary learnable URC has limited MCU resources to mask (insert) complex self-learning program. Secondly, once the learning program of ordinary learnable URC is programmed then it is unable to be upgraded anymore but only be downwardly compatible. All in all, at present in the market it is not easy to find a low cost URC with a powerful learning abilities and upgradeable multi-functions. In order to solve the above problems, BREMAX Company has timely introduced such a multi-function URC with enhanced capabilities. It is called BREMAX Internet Powered Universal RC.
BREMAX Internet Powered URC system consists of Remote Control, PC, Internet Network, System Server, and Code Database, among which PC as a mainframe provided a user-friendly operating interface so that it is convenient for users to access the system server; while System Server is used to handle the demand of access from the users and transmit RC code from database to the PC; and Code Database is used for the storage of RC codes.
The entire download procedure is: First of all, connects BREMAX Internet Powered URC with PC through USB cable, and then visits BREMAX company network server via computer; next, under the direct command from users, server system writes RC code from the database to the user BREMAX URC.
